Brendan Cullen Sculpture
I work mostly in stone, exploring natural and organic form as well as physical and contrasting shapes that occur in everyday life. Titles and inspiration come from music, emotion, expression and sensation.
My recent personal work investigates properties found in naturally occurring shapes, often more about the subtle imbalance and asymmetric curiosities that occur in related lines, forms and implying a sense of movement or energy in a static material.
I have worked with artisans in Pietrasanta, Italy since 2015 in the creation of personal works as well as the sourcing of stones for commissions. I am available for private and public commissions.
